I’m so honored to announce that J9 STYLE has been awarded the Sunshine Award. This an award given by fellow bloggers, so I am truly humbled to be awarded by one of my all-time favorite blogs H&K Style Journey! This mother/daughter fashion blog is truly an inspiration and I enjoy reading it daily.

Here are the questions H&K Style Journey asked me:

 

1. Why did you start blogging?  Who and what inspires you?

I started J9 STYLE as a creative outlet. I love to write and I adore fashion and beauty. I combined my two passions to inspire other women to be and look their best and encourage them to “channel their inner fabulous”. I am inspired by other fashion bloggers as well as music.

2. If you could have one power what would it be (invisibility or flying)? Why?

I would have the power to heal others both with physical and mental ailments. Health and love are the two most important things in life. I can spread love, but it would be a gift to also spread health.

3. What did you want to be when you grew up?  What are you doing now?

Growing up, I wanted to be an award-winning actress, then write and direct my own movies as well as be a published author. Currently, I work in marketing for an entertainment company and I manage and write a style blog. I came close, right?

4. Chocolate or vanilla?

Easy. Chocolate!

5. If you had to choose only one type of make up with you on a deserted island, what would it be (lipgloss, mascara, etc.)? 

If I HAD to choose only one type of makeup it would be concealer. Genetics gave me constant dark circles under my eyes.

6. Favorite book or author?

This is really tough. I can’t possibly pick one. I am a sucker for all British literature too. I would say my favorite authors are: J.K. Rowling, Philippa Gregory, Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery, Betty Smith, Emily Bronte, Meg Cabot, and Suzanne Collins. My favorite book is probably A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

7. What is your favorite holiday and why?

I love Halloween! It’s a time when everyone throws their guard down, dresses up and acts silly. I also love to see how creative people get with their costumes. And plus, there’s candy!

8. Cooking or baking?  What’s your best recipe?

To tell you the truth, I don’t do much of either. I love to cook, but don’t have too much time for it. When I do cook, I love to make my mother’s tomato sauce with meatballs.

9. What is an accomplishment you are most proud of in your life?

I was the first person in my family to graduate college. That was a big deal for me and four years of hard work. When I finish grad school (hopefully soon), that will be my biggest accomplishment.

10. Cats or dogs?

Dogs. I’m allergic to cats. Just thinking about them makes me sneeze!
