Outfits on the Cheap: The Yellow and Blue

I love yellow and blue, but I can’t help think of the University of Michigan. Sometimes with color blocking, certain color combos remind me of professional sports teams which I guess is inevitable. I love this necklace (you can see it better here) and the fact that if you combine the primary colors yellow and blue you get green. I’m not sure if the necklace manufacturers went so deep with this concept, but I’d like to think I caught a glimpse of creative genius.

Yellow Tunic: $14, Marshalls

Cobalt Skirt: $0, rags to riches party

Necklace: $30, So Good boutique in NYC

Nude Pumps: $39.99, JC Penney

Total Outfit: $83.99

Do you ever wear certain color combos that later remind you of sports team?

Loving this color blocking!! Yeah, I know what you mean, there are certain color combos that are just too remanescent of certain things. But I think yellow and blue look great together, so kudos!

This is a fun look! I really love that necklace. Since I grew up in West Virginia this look makes me think of WVU.

no color combos remind me of sports teams right off hand, but i stay away from orange and black because of Halloween.

So I was just googling yellow and blue outfits for ideas for tomorrow and your blog popped up! This is so cute. I so think of teams when I match colors like this, especially blue and white (hub is a university of ky fan!)
