Ever since I could read, I’ve had my nose stuck in a book. I love literature and always enjoy hearing about and reading new books. I know I normally write about style and fashion, but reading is such a big part of my life that it is part of my personal style. So, I’m trying a new category reviewing the current books that I’ve read. Please feel free to add your own comments and book suggestions!
I probably will not be reviewing the newest book that has been released as most of the books I read are from the library. Also, since I started graduate school, I am reading more textbooks that fiction, so many of these books I actually listened on tape during my work commute. I hope you enjoy!
Mistress Shakespeare by Karen Harper
This novel is from the perspective of the alleged mistress of William Shakespeare- Anne Whateley. I love the way Harper pieces together what little is documented about Shakespeare’s personal life and creates a beautiful love story of what could have been true. It also combines my love of the medieval/Elizabethan era and Shakespeare writing into a tale of a unique and sometimes tumultuous relationship. I definitely recommend it!
Other books I currently read and enjoyed are:
- The White Queen- Philip Gregory
- Persuasion- Jane Austen
-The Host- Stephenie Meyer
-Pillars of the Earth- Ken Follet
Have you read Mistress Shakespeare? What did you think?
