With my crazy work load and grad school projects coming to a close, I haven’t been able to tend to my precious blog or satisfy my shopping cravings. I’m going through fashion blogging withdrawal! To ease the ache, I attended the Vintage Clothing and Vinyl Record Affair at one of my favorite boutiques Retromended. It was a fun event to celebrate vintage fashion and music and hang with fellow bloggers.

A HUGE thank you to Iris for providing me with these fab photos and to Lisa for featuring me in her Street Style post.
I forgot how fabulous a basic blazer, t-shirt and jeans can look! I wore this outfit to dinner recently and loved how chic and comfortable I felt.
A simple outfit like a blazer, tee and jeans can serve as a canvas to get really creative with accessories. I took advantage of this canvas to wear my new statement necklace and aztec print clutch.

What’s your favorite way to dress up a t-shirt and jeans?
I realize I’m wearing white after Labor Day, but I think most of you will agree that this rule is old-fashioned. If wearing white after labor day is wrong, then I don’t want to be right!I wore this recently to a local food truck bazaar. Although I love the end result, wearing white shorts really isn’t the smartest choice for an outdoor food event. I love white clothes, but I’m really too much of a klutz to not spill anything.

Have you jumped on the Food Truck trend yet? How do you feel about wearing white after Labor Day?
It’s Friday! And that means it’s time to sport another casual Friday look. I recently acquired this fun cardigan a few weeks ago and it feeds my stripes obsession. Another part of this look that I love is that it has the slightest hint of fall. Sweaters and boots, here we come! This outfit also reminded me of back-to-school time and is something I would wear if I were in school (well, I am in grad school, but that doesn’t really count).

Summer is almost over, so I am trying to wear my summer colors and styles as much as possible. Although many summer trends will spill over into Fall, I’ll miss wearing summer outfits. Here is a casual Friday outfit that includes some of my favorite summer trends.

What summer trends/looks will you miss?
I’ve missed a few Casual Friday outfit posts, but hopefully this one will get you ready for the weekend! It’s great when you have friends that really get your style. For my birthday, I received some wonderful gifts from my friends including accessories and clothes. I love it when I hear “I saw this and thought of you!”
I wore this summer outfit to a pool party recently. Every item in this outfit except the flip-flops and sunglasses is a gift from a friend.

You read the headline right. I celebrated an anniversary for beer. The other weekend we went out with some friends for dinner and then to World of Beer to celebrate their second year anniversary. Any excuse to drink beer, right?
The weather was really hot and the event was outside, so I chose a lightweight dress and wore my hair up in an attempt to stay cool.

With traveling, a heavy school load, and moving houses, this summer has already started as a whirlwind. With the move came a new internet service which hasn’t been working out too well. When you manage a blog and go to graduate school online, losing internet access can feel like losing your entire life!
Now than I’m a bit more settled and this internet access seems to working better, we can return to our regularly scheduled blog posts.
Here is an outfit I wore to work recently. I love combining bold colors with prints.

Black Tank: $8, Target
Print Skirt: $18, TJ Maxx

I’ll be back to reading blogs soon. How long can you survive without access to the internet?
I’m so excited to be linking up with my fellow Florida fashion and style bloggers! No one knows heat better than Floridians; the weather in this tropical state is scorching, humid, and sweltering pretty much ALL year-long. Since summer is basically year-round for us, we are giving our expert advice on how to beat the heat today and the next three Thursdays.
(NOTE: The only heat we want to beat is the weather, NOT the Miami Heat! That would make us terrible Floridians.)
This week’s “Beat the Heat” style topic is our go-to outfits for the hot weather. I chose to show a typical night-out outfit for the Florida summer. Usually when girls go out for drinks or dinner, they think “I’ll wear my favorite pair a jeans and a cute top,” but if you wear jeans out at night in the summertime, you will drown in your sweat. In the summer, I retire my jeans and replace them with dressy shorts. These shorts are casual enough for day and dressy enough for night. Add your favorite top and voila! Instant night-out outfit.
Occasion: Night Out
