Outfits on the Cheap: Casual Friday Trends

I love how this outfit combines three of my favorite summer trends: Bold colors, stripes, and a statement necklace. If you haven’t noticed, I’m wearing a lot of stripes lately and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Will I ever grow tired of them?

Outfits on the Cheap: All About a Scarf

This outfit was entirely styled around my new scarf. My friends were nice enough to get me this scarf in Barcelona while on their European vacation, so I had to honor it with an awesome outfit! I love the mustard/ketchup colors in the contemporary print.

I love monochromatic looks. I love them even more when I get the outfit items cheap. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with teals and turquoises not only for clothes but home decor items as well. Basically, if it’s teal, I’ll buy it.

The title is not talking about a newspaper, but my outfit for the office. I can’t get enough of this black, white and red color combo. I’ve been obsessed with it for the over ten years. No really. Outfits on the Cheap: Animal & Pink Love

Here is another office outfit where I combine animal print and bold colors. Although this skirt has a brown tone animal print, it is very versatile. You can pair it with other neutral tones, golds, neons and jewel tones. When pairing clothes with prints, I used to find the color that was least featured in the print and match that. Now, I am much more evolved and love to experiment with different tones and other prints!

With traveling, a heavy school load, and moving houses, this summer has already started as a whirlwind. With the move came a new internet service which hasn’t been working out too well.When you manage a blog and go to graduate school online, losing internet access can feel like losing your entire life!

Now than I’m a bit more settled and this internet access seems to working better, we can return to our regularly scheduled blog posts.

Outfits on the Cheap: Flower Child

In this outfit, I let my inner bohemian out for some fresh air and combined two types of floral prints. I wore this outfit to run a few errands. If I didn’t have to dress in the real world, I would so rock the true boho chic look like Mary Kate and Ashley. Although they sometimes go a little too far with the look (almost like the Derelict collection from Zoolander- anyone remember that movie?), I love how cool and effortless they appear. The day was muggy and rainy, so I let my hair also go a little wild.

I’m so excited that summer is here! I love the bold colors and bohemian vibe summer brings. This maxi dress is the epitome of a bright summer print with a boho hi-low hemline. I wasn’t a big fan of the hi-low hemline trend, but once I tried it on, I loved how flattering and elongating it was.

Casual Friday: Back to Neutrals

I’ve been doing a lot of color blocking lately and need a little break. I’ve been so busy trying to combine bold hues that I forgot how much I love neutrals. These tones make me feel calm and easy-breezy. I toned down my casual Friday outfit even more by opting for comfy flats instead of my usual heels. It feels good to change it up sometimes!
